Virtual Nutrition Therapy for Binge Eating Disorder

When eating feels out of control, chaotic, or secretive, it can leave you feeling deeply distressed, exhausted, or ashamed. You don’t have to navigate these feelings in isolation. I offer compassionate, non-diet virtual nutrition care for children, teens, and adults experiencing binge eating, emotional eating, chronic dieting, and Binge Eating Disorder (BED) across Florida, New York, California, Texas, and worldwide.

Understanding Your Eating Patterns

Together, we explore your eating routines, nutritional needs, and the emotional and physical triggers around food. We work on establishing consistent, adequate nourishment, unlearning restrictive food rules, and interrupting the physical restriction cycle that often drives bingeing. This is individualized, non-judgmental nutrition care made specifically for your life and stage of recovery.

A Plan That Considers Your Whole Life

Recovery must fit into your actual daily routine. We consider your schedule, preferences, cultural foods, and unique challenges to co-create practical, sustainable steps toward food freedom. With your permission, I also coordinate directly with your therapist and physician for unified outpatient care. You do not need an official medical diagnosis before reaching out for help.

The Fear of Weight Gain and Natural Body Regulation

It is completely normal to feel afraid of gaining weight when seeking help for binge eating. Many people worry that letting go of restrictive diets or stopping binges will cause their body to spiral. However, the opposite is usually true: when binge eating subsides and regular, adequate nutrition is restored- free from severe restriction- the body typically finds its natural, healthy weight baseline where it feels safe and stable. The goal is not forced weight loss or external control, but rather bringing peace back to your metabolism, your mind, and your relationship with food.

Understanding the Emotional Side of Eating

Binge eating is rarely just about food—it is often a deeply ingrained emotional coping mechanism used to navigate stress, anxiety, overwhelm, or unexpressed feelings. Taking a transdiagnostic approach means looking beyond symptoms to address the shared underlying cognitive and emotional patterns that drive disordered eating. Rather than enforcing rigid meal plans or restriction, we focus on identifying your specific emotional triggers, developing adaptive coping strategies, and fostering self-compassion. By helping you build emotional regulation skills and reconnect with your body’s natural cues, we work toward breaking the cycle of bingeing and creating lasting peace with food.

Understanding Binge Eating Disorder (BED)

What is Binge Eating Disorder?

Binge Eating Disorder (BED) involves repeated episodes of eating an unusually large amount of food within a discrete period, accompanied by a feeling of loss of control and intense emotional distress. Unlike bulimia nervosa, regular compensatory behaviors (such as purging, fasting, or excessive exercise) are absent. Binge Eating Disorder affects people of all body sizes, shapes, backgrounds, and genders.

Is Binge Eating the Same as Overeating?

Occasionally eating more than usual or feeling overly full is a normal human experience and does not indicate an eating disorder. Clinical binge episodes often involve eating rapidly, eating until uncomfortably full, eating large amounts when not physically hungry, and eating alone due to shame or secrecy. The frequency, emotional distress, and disruption to daily life require compassionate professional assessment.

A Next Step Without Blame or Shame

Binge eating is a complex clinical condition- it is not a failure of willpower or self-discipline. Seek a comprehensive assessment if eating feels distressing or chaotic, even if you are unsure what label applies. Sustainable recovery combines specialized psychotherapy, medical monitoring, and non-diet nutrition therapy.
