Frequently Asked Questions About Eating Disorder Care

Have questions about virtual nutrition therapy, state licensing, or starting care for yourself or a loved one? Find clear answers below.

Getting Started

Do I need an official diagnosis before reaching out?

No. You do not need a formal diagnosis from a doctor or therapist to schedule a consultation or begin care. You can reach out with questions even if you are unsure whether you or your child has an eating disorder. We will explore your concerns and determine appropriate next steps together.

How do I schedule an appointment or consultation?

Simply send me a short message using the contact form. I will reply directly to discuss your questions, confirm state authorization, and coordinate scheduling. Care is arranged directly with me; there is no automated booking calendar.

Do you offer telehealth appointments in Spanish?

Yes, I am fully bilingual. I offer complete virtual nutrition therapy and clinical supervision in both English and Spanish. Please feel free to reach out in whichever language feels most comfortable for you.

Support for Children, Teens & Families

What age groups do you work with?

I provide specialized virtual nutrition therapy for children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. If you are inquiring on behalf of a child or teen, simply share their age and primary concerns so we can discuss tailored family support.

Can parents or family members contact you on behalf of a loved one?
Yes. Parents and caregivers can inquire about services for a loved one. Involvement in care is discussed according to the client’s age, needs, consent, and treatment plan.

Appointments, Care Team & Telehealth Location

What happens in the first nutrition appointment?
We review your eating patterns, nutrition history, daily routines, emotional challenges, and immediate goals. We collaborate on practical first steps, discuss meal structure, and determine whether coordination with medical or therapy providers is recommended.

Will I also need a medical doctor or psychotherapist?
Eating disorder treatment is most effective with a multidisciplinary care team. Nutrition therapy often complements medical monitoring by a physician and psychotherapy. With your permission, I closely coordinate care with your existing providers or assist with referrals.

Can you see clients outside of Florida or outside the United States?

Yes. I hold state licenses in Florida and New York, and provide telehealth care across authorized practice states (including California, Texas, Virginia, Colorado, and others) as well as international locations. When reaching out, let me know where you will be located during appointments to confirm authorization.

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider. I can provide itemized superbills (medical receipts) upon request that you may submit to your health insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan's coverage for medical nutrition therapy (MNT).

How are telehealth sessions held?

All virtual nutrition sessions take place via a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth video platform to protect your privacy and medical information.

You don’t have to do this alone.
